I think the only thing you can plant in this horrible heat is pumpkins. Wait until the first or second week in October to plant all your stuff. We plant lettuce, tomatoe, onions, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, celery, garlic, peppers and more. We have had great success with our gardens. Good luck!

Don't do it.

There, I told you.

It's a TON of work.

Although, we're not big veggie or fruit eaters here. We might do better growing a cow or some chickens. We like our meat!

I've looked into this recently and I have the name of a guy who will bring a 4x4 grow box right to your backyard with soil all ready for you to plant for $75...let me know if you want his name! Also go to this website: http://ag.arizona.edu/maricopa/garden/
click on the monthly guide and it will tell you what to plant when. Keep us posted on how it goes because I would really like to do this soon too, I just need to find the patience and the time! Good luck!!!

I will email you great instructions for an organic garden. I have studied this for the past year because we are planning on planting one this early fall. I want to make my own baby food so I gotta get started here soon! We can experiment together!

First tip:

Move away from Arizona. Just kidding! I thought gardening in Az was so hard. But it looks like people have some great suggestions!!
