Flashback Friday
but I am working on a family project. And, going through some old photos, I found this one.
I love it because:
It displays my sweet fashion sense~ You have to admit that patchwork coat is to die for...wish I had it for Elle.
It is a testament to my "throw caution to the wind" attitude~ I broke my arm doing a "death drop" off of the bars on my kindergarten playground.
It is a peek into my hairstyle of choice~ I rocked the two pony tails for years! You know I'm still a fan of the pony!
It is evidence~ of the beginning of a long and intense relationship with sugar. Need I say more?
*What's up Ashley? Why so sad in this photo?

Yoga...not for the faint of heart
Well, I have. And, I love it!
That is, until last night when somehow, instead of peace and enlightenment, I left the studio with a sprained toe.
Yes, I have a yoga injury. Can you believe that?
So, now that I have gotten back on track with my running, I have to take a few days off because of my yoga toe.
Oh, well. You know what they say in Yoga...
Go Big or Go Home!
ok, they don't.
but, they should.

Thanks, Dad!
Physical activity has always been a part of my life, not something I was really conscious about. It feels almost biological and I realize why...
THIS is my dad.
I don't remember, but I'm sure I was there.
He is my fitness role model.
My dad has always been active, whether it was running, playing baseball or basketball, or cycling.
There has never been a time in my life that my dad was inactive.
In two months, my dad will turn 60. He gets up every morning and rides his bike. He hikes. He lifts weights. He stays ACTIVE.
Thinking about the great example my dad has been over the years has made me acutely aware of the influence I have on my own children.
I don't have to preach.
I don't have to force.
I just have to move!
Thanks, Dad.
I'm sure you never realized the gift you gave us!
*Dad, I want your shoes. The yellow laces are awesome. *When I run, I look just like this, one knee wrapped. No facial hair, though!

All-Star Night
On Friday, Max got a great surprise from his dad.
Shawn picked him up and took him to the Suns game.
Sitting on the floor, Max got to get up close and personal with some of his favorite players.
He got Dan Majerle and Amare Stoudemire to sign his basketball and as the Sun's ran onto the court, he got a high-five from Steve Nash!

Resolutions...
made a New Year's resolution.
I am thinking that it is about time to join my fellow bloggers and resolve to break some old habits and make some new ones.
They are...
#1 I will never, under any circumstances, eat an entire cheese ball in one sitting...ever again!
#2 I am going to give Yoga a try. Heck, I'd love a healthier mind, body, and spirit (apparently, these are the things that I will get). So, I will put aside all of the reasons I have avoided yoga all of these years: the hot rooms, painfully slow movements, and most of all, people working out in bare feet. I will be patient and open-minded. I will remove my sneakers and my ipod and I will take the first step toward flexibility, strength, inner peace, and some mind-blowing karma!

Snow Day Fun!
This is how we kept the kiddos busy...
Winter Scavenger Hunt
The kids had to solve riddles to find their next clue.
Ex: To stomp through mud or snow, pull me on and off we'll go!
You get the point. Each clue included an attached bag of candy, so the kids were really sugared up!
The kids followed several clues all through the cabin and snow to their final destination where their prizes were waiting.
The kids loved this! The boys got airplane shooters and the girls got giant diamond rings!
